This study was conducted to examine the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging digital technologies in the field of mental health and to analyze them within the framework of Islamic ethical principles. The rapid advancement of AI, including large language models, machine learning algorithms, therapeutic chatbots, and digital mental health platforms, has created new opportunities to improve access to mental health services, reduce treatment costs, enhance the early detection of mental disorders, and provide personalized therapeutic interventions. At the same time, challenges such as privacy violations, algorithmic bias, reduced human interaction, technological dependence, and issues related to ethical accountability have emerged as major concerns in this field. This study is a systematic review (Systematic Review) with a descriptive-analytical approach, conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, based on a systematic examination of scientific literature published between 2019 and 2025 in reputable international academic databases. The findings indicate that AI can play a significant role in promoting mental health by improving diagnostic processes, expanding access to mental health services, and strengthening preventive interventions. However, from an Islamic perspective, the legitimacy and value of technological applications depend on their alignment with fundamental principles such as human dignity, justice, privacy protection, accountability, and spiritual well-being. The findings suggest that AI-based technologies can contribute to the promotion of mental health in Islamic societies, provided that they are designed, developed, and implemented within the framework of Islamic ethical and religious values.
