Objective: This research aims to explore the contemporary human identity crisis, particularly among the youth, under the influence of modernity, globalization, and new media, and to propose a localized and comprehensive model for explaining and managing it. This is achieved through the integration of revelatory teachings from the Holy Quran and narrations of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) with contemporary theories in psychology and sociology.
Method: The research adopts a qualitative approach with an analytical-comparative method, facilitating the re-examination of key identity concepts via intertextual dialogue between religious and scientific notions. Data were gathered through library and documentary studies, with principal themes related to the identity crisis extracted and compared.
Findings: The findings reveal a meaningful overlap between revelatory and scientific foundations. Concepts such as fitrah (innate disposition), human dignity, and self-purification align with notions like self-concept, personality coherence, and meaning crisis. This convergence fosters a profound and multidimensional explication of identity. The research outcome is an "integrative four-layer model" encompassing individual, socio-cultural, psychological, and religious-philosophical levels, portraying human identity in a dynamic linkage with meaning, society, and the ultimate purpose of existence.
Conclusion: The synthesis of revelatory wisdom and human intellect provides a theoretical and practical framework for reconstructing youth identity and devising cultural policies. This model proposes actionable strategies, such as enhancing self-knowledge through educational programs, revitalizing cultural identity via the recreation of authentic traditions, and protecting against cultural invasion by promoting media literacy.
